Here are some of the best kinect games for boys since the introduction of Xbox kinect in late 2010.
Joy Ride is the only driving and kart Racing Game initially bought out by Xbox kinect, it has built in massive jumps and full-body stunts to the classic kart racing action. With a host of cool features and game modes you can find your inner Andretti by going solo, pick up a co-pilot, or team up with your friends and family to take on the world. This has a 7.6 rating out of 10 form 18 reviews
The amount of content is great; the tournament mode has all sorts of great tracks and secret portions of tracks. Each one is unique and different. The stunt mode lets you break out some pretty cool car stunts, which I've never seen in a game before, but it's a blast. The online is great too, being able to play these great tracks not with bots, but people.
The multiplayer is a blast; I took a 2nd drum chair and put it next to the first one, like a real car. Of course you can cheat easily by slapping the other persons hand down, but can't you do that on any game with or without a controller?
I enjoyed it a lot, the motion controls are fun, and the maps are cool and colorful. I'd highly suggest it if you have a Kinect.
The next top kinect game for boys is Kinectimals, it is the best kinect game for kids of all ages and they learn to build lasting friendships with some of the world's most amazing creatures. Just like real pets, your virtual pets will come running when they hear your voice, respond to commands such as jump, roll over and purr w when you scratch them behind their ears. I'm going to estimate age ranging from 4 - 13. There is a large variety of activities to enjoy. This game has an 8.8 rating out of 10.
You are not the animal, but rather the animal's friend. Play games with your animal (most are some type of cat).
The animal (and child) move around an island, playing games (many of which involve knocking things down by throwing something at them. It's a great way to get your child to understand how Kinect reads their movements, prior to trying more involved games. For example, the frisbee action works better if when you throw-- you hold your hand extended where you threw it for a minute. (Not yank it right back.) It also has some driving games, and the sweetness factor is way high. I have two kids, aged 8 and 6-- and both love it.
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows is another great kinect games for boys.
Overall, the graphics are not outstanding, but they're bar-none the best graphics seen before in a Potter game. As far as the Kinect mode goes, I've only played about an hour of it and its fun and gives the 360 version the edge over the PS3 version. If you have no previous knowledge or interest in the Harry Potter franchise, stay away from HP DH1 because it most likely won't draw you in and you'll just think of it as a Gears of War rip-off. However, if you're a die-hard Harry Potter fan like me, I couldn't recommend this game enough.
