Sponge Bob was created by a marine biologist called Stephen Hillenburg and bring it to the small screen in the year 1999 to star a cartoon called like the main character, transmited on Nickelodeon. With the ingredients that make of this cartoon a comedy, in the beginning this was a kid cartoon and became quickly in a teenage serie, with satirical and sweet humor. This is the reason because Sponge Bob became famous and well know in the entire world and also thanks to all the character that contribute aspects of the everyday life, which make the spectators identify.
The characters of the series are described to itself in their action. With a different personality and characteristics completely demarcated, each one of them causes a feeling and a different emotion in the televidente. On the one hand we have the protagonist, Sponge Bob, who possesses an ingenuous, helpful, sweet personality and even fool from time to time that causes certain tension in many episodes therefore he manages to transmit so healthy innocence, that awake a little shame by his behavior. On the other hand, we find his best friend, called Patrick Star, a nice and strange being. He is a pink starfish and wear a green pants with flowers printed. This character provoke ambivalence, you can love him many times but in some occasion, all the opposite. With a limited intelligence and very little sense of empathy, Patricick Star by himself, constitute all a comedy.
Other interesting character accompany to Sponge Bob in his unusual adventures, his boss one Mr. Krab, who true name is Eugenio Harold Krab he is without a doubt the stingiest and meanest character of all the serie but who occupy one of the main character on this one, therefore his presence improve Sponge Bob´s personality with his challenges, his exaggerated petitions and his bad suggestions that many times carry our protagonist to lose the head by being submitted to the mandates of his boss. On the contrary, Squidward Tentacles who is the total antithesis of Sponge Bob, therefore he hates his work as the cashier in the Krusty Krab, helps to create real delirious situations that can remove more than a laughter. The embittered Tentacles only enjoy of his clarinet, but has the bad luck to live next to his worse nightmare, Sponge Bob. Dreams of living far from all those that limit his creative capacity and his intelligence. Deep down Tentacles is a good guy; in many chapters desire to get rid of Sponge Bob and Patrick Star, but mostly all the time he regrets. The funniest characteritic. The funniest of Tentacles besides his personality, is the laugh.
This way has been woven Sponge Bob´s history. Later some characters were included like Sandy Cheeks, a squirrel that lives in the fund of the sea protected by technologies that were created by her. This character try to show the the intellectual ability of women over men, sometimes she use to be annoying and a little know-all, she complies the mission to deliver wisdom and temper to this accumulation of lunatic characters.
The submarine world of Bikini Bottom had so much success since its starts, that was carried to movies in the year 2004 under the direction of Sherm Cohen and C.H. Greenblatt and the production of Paramount Pictures for Nickelodeon Movies, tape that had a lot of success, but really did not reach the expectations and the criticism qualified as "nice but tepid".This is the motive of why we do not see light of a second part. Without a doubt the lack of some ingredients will not made it sticky and graceful.
But that is not all; Sponge Bob also stars in an enormous quantity of videogames, for play station (Atlantis SquarePants). Is in fact, such a famous character that you can find him in many website and enjoy of his company.
