Art of Animation As a Rare Collectible
Drawings and sketches from a variety of animation artists can even be found in popular art galleries throughout the world.
Collecting animation art has grown within the past decade due to variety of characters being produced by these exceptional artists. The artwork used in the production of animated films are highly sought after by animation experts all over the world. In fact, there is a growing obsession for collecting these valuable pieces. There are two types of animation art, which are original and reproduction. Before the technology advancement of computers all animation was done completely by hand, and now sketches of characters are simply scanned into a computer where the frames are completed.

These types of publications gives collectors the opportunity the chance to share their collecting stories, ask questions, and share their experience will others. Other area of interest for a collector who is just beginning to collect animation art is from the International Animated Film Society.
Collecting animation art can be extremely exciting where collectors can display a character of their childhood into their collection. The world of animation art includes characters like Mickey Mouse, Bugs Bunny, Donald Duck. The most popular type of animation art is called production cel, which where a hand painted animation cel is actually filmed to create one frame of an animated scene that will appear within a cartoon. The popularity of this type of animation art has become overwhelming due to collectors seem to identify the character in these final painted versions.
The determining factors of what the price of an animation art will be includes the type of art, rarity, condition, how the character is posing, and what cartoon it was actually used in.
