Andrew Mclennan is not the only game person crazy for this, and Nintendo would be more brain-nerving than him for this. Nevertheless, he hopes hackers will spend time on cracking as long as possible, and it`s better to let hackers wrack their brains.
Andrew McLennan still needs a lot of time to introduce this technology to fight with the burn card. While the R4 has already existed for many years and there are many sites for people downloading all illegal NDS games over the past four and a half years all over the world. It was said in reports of Times of Britain, there would be 35 million R4 cards on sale, until now the number would be much bigger.
Andrew said that their knowledge of R4 disks is still very limited; and for the official anti-piracy security technologies, R4 can continue to crack them by upgrading its firmware. However, he stated that Metaforic technology company's technology solutions to the firmware upgrade has the prevent ability: "The upgrade of firmware cannot break our protection systems, although we can not disclose more details."
Although Andrew is working on anti-piracy technically, he holds that it is not necessary to prohibit burning disks through legal methods, saying that he respects those who develop self-made software and games by burning disks – although a very small proportion. And he said at present legislations in relevant fields are vacant, thus it is hard to prove circulation of DSTT is against the law. Prohibit a DSTT today, maybe tomorrow a new one would emerge, thus Andrew Mclennanagrees to revolve this problem by technology means while not legal means.
DSi, the new type of machine of NDS series which had published in Japan last year had been put on European and American markets.In the early stage of its sale, all burning cards couldn't be used. But hackers wouldn't be frightened by Nintendo's efforts. Certain DSi burning cards are putting on the market now. Bearing mind that the more illumination, the more temptation, it appears that the road of anti-piracy is still a long way to go.
