Self Perception (inner game)
What is it?
Simply put, it is the way in which you view yourself and your surroundings. Self perception is one of the, if not the number one, most important things regarding seduction. With good self perception, you put yourself in the proper mindset for interaction with women. You possess the traits of an alpha male when you have good self perception. However, bad self perception throws you into AFC land where you become insecure and needy.
The idea of self perception covers the entire spectrum of your physical and emotional being. It can be range from how you feel about your shoelaces (bad, or good) all the way to your discomfort with your weight. Self perception is simply how you see yourself.
How does this affect my game? (How does it work?)
How you see yourself leads to how you carry yourself. How you carry yourself leads to how others see you; and how others see you will decide whether or not your interactions with people (both men and women) will be enjoyable or downright awkward.
For example, let's say you are wearing a nice white shirt. You go to Starbucks and immediately see a 9 sitting on the couch but instead of approaching, you go to order a drink (anchoring yourself in that place) and plan your attack. The barista calls your drink and you make the casual stroll to the counter with the milk and such. As you stir your drink you spill a bit on the lower part of your shirt, maybe the size of a dime, if not smaller. Now up until that point your confidence was sky high because you've been in the game and you were pretty sure you could walk away with that woman's number. Suddenly your focus is on the stain but you're in auto-pilot mode and making your way towards the 9 but you're taking glances at your stain to make sure it's not noticeable. The 9 glances up because of your awkward "glance-at-the-stain-don't-spill-my-drink" walk and out of curiosity, follows your trail of sight to the stain to which she chuckles to herself out of amusement. So she has labeled you as a dork and your focus is on the stain on your shirt. When you sit down to lock in you have to drastically refocus your attention and either 1. Recover and have her remove her mental label on you (unlikely) or 2. Make her forget about the stain….. (Again, Not likely)
So because you were distracted by your stain, you effectively blew out a set that could've been great. Instead of saying "screw it" to the stain and tucking your shirt behind your Belt Buckle (out of sight out of mind), you took awkward glances at the stain, hoping she wouldn't notice. Since you made yourself uncomfortable about the stain, she looked out of curiosity and noticed it because you made it noticeable. Good job!
On the other hand let's say you did just say "screw it" and tucked your shirt behind your belt to hide the stain. You walked up cool, calm and collected. The 9 on the couch looks up from her book, picks up on your confident walk and is intrigued. She looks to start a conversation but has nothing. Suddenly she looks over to you and says "I like your belt" Voila! Set opened, and you can now proceed like normal. Congratulations, you just won a set because you had great self perception.
Reading between the lines (The concept)
Basically, nothing is really a big deal unless you make it a big deal. So you wake up with a zit on your face and you are self-conscious about it. People will pick up on your discomfort, ask what's wrong, and you tell them that you have a zit. They immediately respond with "where?" and you point it out. They would've never noticed that you had a zit if you didn't make such a big deal out of it and just left it alone.
Good Self perception and confidence go hand in hand. When you are comfortable with yourself nothing is a big deal unless you CHOOSE to make it so. A confident alpha male CHOOSES the people and situations that surround him. A beta male lets people and situations CHOOSE HIM. See the difference?
I get asked about age, and height the most regarding things people can't control. "Well I'm 16 and she's 18" or "She's 5'11 and I'm 5'7". You cannot control your age, you cannot control your height, so why are you making a big deal out of it? You can't control those things and whining about it isn't going to change that fact. Just drop the topic, get comfortable because it's not changing anytime soon. What you can control is your ATTITUDE towards things.
In a single line the key to self perception is "NOBODY WILL NOTICE IF YOU DON'T MAKE IT A BIG DEAL"
People will naturally assume things if you carry yourself properly. If you want to date a woman who is 6 feet and you're only 5'7, don't make height an issue and it will not be one. If you are 50 lbs overweight (granted there is something you can do about that) don't let it stop you or slow your life down and it won't. Basically you are the master of your life and you should treat it as such. I've gotten drinks FROM THE BARTENDER when I was 17 because I carried myself and articulated myself to seem much older than I was. If you can't get a woman it is not going to be your age that stops you. It is not going to be your height that hinders you. It is going to be YOU and your ATTITUDE towards yourself and life that will make or break the set.
