The Aion Assassin leveling guide I used helped me level my sin very fast even though most people claim that it is hard to solo with it. If you know how to train, which skill to use and when, the Assassin can put down an equal level monster very fast and without taking many hits. Mastering your skills is the most important factor when leveling up.
When leveling up your Assassin you need to make sure you are oriented the right way, don't bother getting better protection if it means sacrificing damage. The low damage mitigation of the Leather armor will make you receive big amounts of damage anyway. Instead, go for damage. By using Signets to stun the enemies you can make sure that they never hit you. Forget the normal fighting method where you stand in front of the mob and just hit him, you need to stun him as much as possible and hit from behind using the Surprise Attack. From level 10 you can get the Divine Strike skill, which deals damage and also heals you. A common strategy to kill mobs would be to start off with the Surprise Attack, use Rune Carve, detonate the rune with Pain Rune, that will stun the enemy.
