Did the philips CDi lead the way to Cd for music, or games, and movies?
It seemed like it had the potential to be way better. and everything now is on Cd's. so did it lead the way to it?
Yes in a sense but also no because they probs only made developers think ahead a bit more as in disc formatt but no as in it would have happend any how i agree with you it had potential to do what it could at the time but thats why it probs faild because game developers wasent going to risk investing in something new at the time that could easyly fail because it was new but it did certainly pave the way.Its like you could also ask would the ps1 ever have been invented sony wasent developing with nintendo who knows? but sony took that idea in the disc formatt that sega saturn also tried but faild misrebly sony did it good tho thats probs the real birth of the disc game to a much wider audience so now is the norm,
