GCSE help? Which subjects are compulsory and how many extras can you have?
I am choosing my gcse in about 3 months but I want to start thinking now...
I am in top set for everything at school which doesnt really give me that 'better at this' idea....
I really like geography and enjoy it and get good levels, (aiming for 7c/7b by summer) so i was going to take that and had my heart set on it... but I'm also getting good levels in history (6a's etc) so i dont know, i only like the parts in history about war or plague and hateeee dates and monarchy.
I dont really know what i want to do when I'm older, I wanted to go into medical.... or law... or possibly journalism? i really dont know:S
I am quite good at all the dts so how many extra gcse's can i take? I was going to take a dt and business but I dont know much about them or which dt....:)

How many extra GCSEs you can take depends on your school set up. They are likely to insist on Maths, English and at least 2 Sciences as the school's league table position depends on them, but after that there is a huge variation in what schools offer or allow - you could ask to see the school's options list now (they should be able to give you last years even if they haven't updated it for this year yet); that might give you an idea of what will be possible.
If you think you might want to do medicine then I'd definitely recommend doing all 3 sciences, if you want to do law then history is a good option... For both you need a solid set (at least 5A* for medicine, about the same for law) of academic GCSEs. I'd think again about Business, it's quite a 'soft' GCSE, and there's not a problem with doing A level Business or Economics if you haven't done GCSE so you don't close your options down if you don't take it. Without knowing you or what your school offers it's had to be more specific.
