All Hook
What will happen if I hook up a new itouch to my itunes library with all my songs on it?
I'm buying a new ipod itouch tomorrow.
I have an older ipod nano, and around 800 songs in my itunes library and I still want all those songs but I'm afraid if I hook up a new itouch to the itunes, all the songs will get deleted.
Will this happen?
Or what is the best way to make sure none of my songs are deleted when I hookup a new itouch to itunes?
itunes will ask you if you want to sync the ipod touch to the itunes library. You must say NO! If you say yes then that will delete your stuff. If you say no then the ipod will show up in the itunes device list. You can then select the device and look under the summary tab. there will find on the bottom a few check boxed select manual mange or sync only check one or the other. manual mange will allow you drag and drop songs to the ipod or delete directly from the ipod. The sync only check option means that only songs with checks next to them will sync to the ipod touch. the check boxes are seen left of the songs in the itunes library. This method will work if you have one or two ipods if you have more you will need to definitely select the manual method. I like the manual method myself. This method allows you to keep all or no files in the itunes library but will still keeping them on the ipod.
