Is it true that virtua fighter 3 was the most advance game made for its time?

This was way back when the Sega Saturn was out. I heard that Virtua Fighter 3 was so advance, that not even the Sega Saturn could handle it, so it stayed at the arcades. I know that know its nothing compared to todays games, but was it really so advance that no system back then was capable of playing it?

Yes, it is true that the port version for the Saturn was too advanced for the system at the time. It was however supported on the dreamcast and that is what it ended up being commercially sold on. The dreamcast proved to be a worthy console and also supported Soulcaliber which had amazing graphics for its time also.
