Wireless internet?
I'm planning to switch to a wireless internet connection that uses a USB dongle (or whatever it is called). But I also would like to connect a router to have the signal around my house. So when my friends come over they can also use the connection. would it be possible to connect a router without having to leave my laptop switched on? How does this actually work?
If you are getting broadband DSL into your house, just make sure you ask for a wireless router/modem when your are buying it. This will broadcast you Internet connection so that any PC/laptop that has a wireless network card can connect to it if they have the password or WEP encryption key. Depending on the size of your house and the walls, to get full coverage around your house you might have to get another piece of kit called an "access point" which will increase the range of your wireless signal.
