Why does my Sony W-55 occassionally take pictures with black and white horizontal lines on the whole photo?

Lately, my 2 year old Sony W-55 occassionally take pictures with black and white horizontal lines on the whole photo with no rhyme or reason. What could be the cause?

Your memory card might be on its way out.
You should format your card in camera on a VERY regular basis, as that helps to prevent such errors.

It may be too late now, but it might still work, and you need to get into the habit anyway - so start formatting your card.

If you don't know how, read the manual - a book (or downloaded pdf file) that you should know inside out, anyway.
