do I have to pay for a hole in a wall of a rental home?
I am renting a home. I was standing by a wall one day and somebody pushed me and my hand went inside the wall creating a big hole. Can I ask owner to fix it or do I have to pay? The wall seems to be very weak and soft and can easily be broken with little effort.
I know I am a bit late on this one, but here goes:
Yes, if you broke the wall, it is your responsibility to make sure the repair is payed for. Check with your landlord before you do any repairs yourself. Bad drywall patches show even through many layers of paint, and we don't allow our tenants to do their own repairs. You might lose even more money if your landlord has to fix a bad repair.
