And what do you think overall is the best protector and guard dog, Im just interested to see what people think

I have a Pitbull and a German shepherd, the pitbull is my alert dog, he'll let me know when something is up, however I havent trained her to do so but my shepherd is the guardian. She always checks out the area we are entering, if someone enters my home unannounced she will back them into a corner and give her warning bark until I back her off and tell her its ok. She has no formal protection training, this is natural for her.

If you want a protection and guard dog, I suggest a German Shepherd.

Bully breeds dont make good guard dogs, their tendency is to be people friendly to all people, they may alert you if something is up but wont "guard" anything. I would not recommend trying to train a dog for protection and guarding unless you have a LOT of knowledge in that field and know exactly what your doing. An improperly trained guard dog can kill someone or something and create a nightmare for you legally.
