Can I use both a 6-pin PCI-e connector and 4-pin molex to 6 pin PCI-e converter?
I want to get a high end graphics card that requires two 6-pin PCI-e connectors. My power supply only has one. I do have an adapter that can convert two 4-pin molex connector into one 6-pin PCI-e connector. Is it safe to use both one real 6-pin PCI-e connector straight from the PSU and the 6-pin connector from the adapter?
I did that once and had no problems with it. Just make sure your PSU is capable of pumping out enough wattage to support the new card.
