Need help with Reset with a Pokewalker & trainer?

Hi, I bought a used NDSL for my daughter and it came with the Pokewalker & a game. The trainer that was on the NDSL game was a bad word. So my daughter deleted it, and now the Pokewalker is saying trainer not found, or can't connect. If anyone can help me with this I'd be greatly appreciated! My 10yr is upset that it won't work now.

Load up the game which the Pokewalker is compatible with and click on Connect to Pokewalker. At the next screen hold down B,down arrow key and the L button. It will then ask you to confirm that you want to delete it and VOLIA!!!!! Your daughter can now transfer her own Pokemon onto the Pokewalker
