Hey i have a toshiba satellite m200 with vista basic installed. Iv decided to downgrade to xp or possibly inst?
Hey i have a toshiba satellite m200 with vista basic installed. Iv decided to downgrade to xp or possibly install both. At the moment im trying to format the entire hdd and reinstall xp pro. When i enter setup, after booting from disk, the end user agreement comes up and i accept.
The problem is on the next screen it informs me that no hdd was found or something along these lines... Iv tried installing xp pro by running the cd in vista, and when it restarts and i choose xp setup i get the blue screen (critical error).
I've done formats on a number of computers and never had this problem and am running out of ideas... P.S. im aware of all the issues involved in downgrading laptops, But at the moment just need a solution for how to get this HDD formated.
If you want to have both windows vista and xp pro on your pc you have to install first the xp pro and then install vista. Do not install both xp and vista to the same hdd unless you create a partition for each os. If all goes well you will have a dual system (xp pro and vista).
In my opinion do not downgrade to xp but upgrade to windows 7.
