Gameshark Codes Freeze Game?

Ok, so I have the Gameshark 2 for PS2 the one that features Guitar Hero 2. Well, it works for most of my games but with Armored Core 2 I insert the Gameshark, activate codes etc, and when it asks to insert game CD I do...then the screen goes black as if loading and nothing ever happens, I've waited for 30 mins, also I've tried everything...lens cleaner, diffrent ps2, cleaning the disk, checking codes etc...I have no idea what to do. It seems alot of people have trouble with games not loading like this. Can anyone help me?
